Ringtail Emergency Lighting was established in 1997. The directors’ combined industry experience in the areas of product sourcing and product development, sales and distribution is impressive, and has led to Ringtail’s outstanding success.
Ringtail moved to its Preston location in 2004 where the majority of the company’s products are assembled. Ringtail currently supplies to a wide cross-section of clients. Electrical contractors, fire contractors, wholesalers and architects all find our courteous, efficient and wide-ranging service and our guaranteed products precisely meet their needs.
Emergency lights are units that are wired into the mains, but have the benefit of battery back-up so they remain illuminated should the mains power fail. The batteries can either be carried within the body of the individual light or accessed via an independent wired circuit. The mains supply keeps the batteries charged.
In the event of an emergency and a power fail, buildings need to be evacuated safely and quickly. Escape routes and emergency exits must be illuminated to achieve this.
There are laws relating to emergency lighting, most importantly the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. It includes a mandatory requirement for the provision of emergency lighting in all public buildings.
Ringtail is a national and international operation. In the UK, our clients are serviced from our North West head office and in Ireland by Omak agencies. Our overseas interests are overseen by Archer Export Services covering the Middle East, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria.
We have approvals in the Middle East issued by Lahmeyer International for the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority, for provision of emergency lighting in electricity sub-stations, a major ongoing project.
